DAP - the davidson arts project

Cardinal Place SW1

On this project DAP was commissioned to seek out a small number of young artists, each with their own specialism to work alongside the design team.

DAP conducted a number of brainstorming workshops from which recent graduates from Royal College of Art, Royal Academy Schools, Slade School of Fine Art, and Central St Martin's College of Art & Design were encouraged to work together to develop proposals showing real promise.

The challenge set down by the architects was for artists to consider ideas that were "abstract and contemporary" using "glass and form".

The resulting Public Art was successful in directly addressing its spatial context and helped create an individual sense of place at Cardinal Place.
